Senior Home Needs a Remodel

I am currently in the process of doing a San Diego remodel which is going to take up all of my time for the next 3 months. Currently we are doing some painting on the home which is going pretty well. I know that painting is never a fun job, but because of our strict budgets we must do the job ourselves without hiring an outside painting contractor to come in and get it done for us. So far this has worked really well for us and we are saving a lot of money that is going to be helping to increase our profit margins and extra cash flow for the next job we do. I have some work already lined up for us and we will be doing that job as soon as we get done at this location which should be really soon. I will be happy to get this job finished because then we will be able to get a nice big check.

Time for a Change

I am getting older, there is no denying that. With each passing month I know that my age of being able to care for myself and my family adequately is passing. That said, it also means that my children are increasingly independent and able to care for themselves. Sure they have been out of college for a long time, but with this economy and not too many job prospects, I continued to work as though I might have to support them in the future. Lucky for me, or maybe it is a testament to how we raised our children, they all have jobs and are starting families of there own. I looked into Washington nursing homes the other day just to see what is out there if either Mary or I become unable to care for ourselves. There look like there are some great homes all over this area, so maybe things are not so bad.

Assisting the Family

The hardest part of being a long term care giver is entering a home that is uncared for and dirty. So often the sick and dying have no help to get them through the toughest times and sometimes things are in such an emergency state for so long that cleanliness and order have long fallen by the wayside. Assisting the family of the elderly or infirm to have home health as well as individual health is a goal that assists the caregiver in providing excellent long term care in the course of their work. Many home health care providers work directly with cleaning services to help a family restore the health of their home as well as the health of their loved one. Living in the stress of a messy house never helps the infirm to heal at the rate that living in cleanliness and order does. This is of primary importance next to the health of the patient.

Sarasota Independent Living – The Questions To Help You Choose

The first time you are looking for affordable assisted Florida living, there are many factors you feel are important and you are afraid you are missing one or two. Ultimately, your checklist differs from the next person. Who is using this facility, their preferences, their medical conditions and many other things affect the questions you want to ask.

The most important questions however, are the same across the range of customers. Read on for the list and reasons.

Is it assisted living or independent living?
Facilities for the elderly can be categorized in to two, in terms of care. Independent living provides the senior members of society with a housing complex, a community of elders with similar interests and partners to do activities together. Assisted living provides health care and day to day living assistance, from grooming to medicine management.

Does it have 24 hours medical assistance?
A good assisted living facility Sarasota needs to have a 24 hours nurse on duty, as well as round the clock personnel ready to help at the events of emergency.

Does the facility ask for payment that may inconvenience you?
Most facilities accept payments by credit cards but there may be some facilities offering assisted living in Sarasota which accept only cheque or money order.
A number of Sarasota assisted living facilities may prove to be just a little beyond your means but they also offer financing options which enable you to install loved ones in their establishment and affording their fees at the same time.

Does it have an activity manager?
Elderly living in assisted living facilities need entertainment just as much as everybody else. They may not be as sprightly as the ones living at the independent living facilities but they can always play bridge, bingo or poker.
An activity manager not only sees to these but she or he also up the ante and schedule tournaments, outings and shows to make sure living in Sarasota assisted living establishments is an experience worth looking forward to.

Does it provide a thorough housekeeping service?
You know what your loved one needs. Is she or he unable to take care of small things like dishes and laundry? Is she or he beyond household chores like making the beds?
