Foods That Are Good For Sleeping

Your mother was right when she told you to take a glass of milk before sleeping. Milk is one of the best foods that help you sleep, due to its high concentration of the amino acid tryptophan, that is used by the body to form melatonin. Basically, foods that are high in protein will often contain tryptophan, but the tryptophan in milk is of the best variety that is easily absorbed and utilized by the body.

Other foods that can induce drowsiness are apples or apple containing foods. Did you know that apples feature in many folklore surrounding sleep? It could be due to the high fructose in apples which make you sleepy. So it’s either sweety foods or foods high in protein that can help you sleep, but remember one thing, don’t take aggravating foods like chillies, which increase your metabolism and blood circulation. The last thing you need is to feel heated up inside!
